Another Weekend Update
I can't believe another week has flown by. I haven't even had time to read other blogs this week! It's been a busy one and the Olympics are finally here. I'm just glued to the television now. I can't decide what to watch or if I want to leave the house to do other things. Sad, really. There is just something about the Olympics that brings out the competitive nature in us all. It's been 2 days and I just can't get enough.
Here's what's been happening this week:
This week at work kicked off our yearly team building exercise. We're split into our own "Olympic teams" and we are competing in Olympic type "sports." I love it because we get to know people that may not work in our area and you have the chance to learn about what they do every day. This week, we built a torch out of canned food and then donated the food the local food bank. Fun and giving back! Then we had a "Get to Know the US Teams" challenge. Each team made a poster about one of the teams. Here's ours:
It actually has a diving platform and a diver in mid-air. 3D was a common theme throughout. It really put us all int he mood for the games, though.
This week we dropped the price on our house. We really need to sell it. We had someone come look the very next day. Funny how people still want the house completely renovated and updated for a steal. Our house is truly a D-E-A-L. It needs updates, but the house itself is fabulous. I hope that someone will come along and see just how fabulous it is....and soon!
Friday night, we attended a cookout with some of our tennis team. It was a lot of fun. Good food and good fun. We also watched the opening ceremonies for the Olympics. James Bond and the Queen were my favorite. I truly adore the Queen. She is an amazing woman.
Yesterday, I went to the High Point Cycling Classic. I've never been to a cycling event. It was kind of like going to a horse race. Find your friends who have tents and eat and drink the day away. It was super hot and it even rained, but it was a lot of fun. I wish more people in town would have attended. It's really a fun, family event. Do I know who won? Of course not. Did I cheer? I sure did! If only I'd had a cow bell. If you'd like to learn more, here's a link to their Facebook page, HP Cycling Classic and their website. It's LOTS of fun!
Today will be a low key day. Want to hit the pool shortly, get a visit in with my parents and maybe do a little grilling this evening.
Hope you are having a great weekend!
Happy Sunday!
xoxo,
Laurie

selling your home has got to be SO frustrating... there is so much buzz about a "buyers market" - but of course buyers still have very high standards and expect everything to be a steal with the way the economy is.
have you buried a st. joseph statue in your front yard yet?? yes, it is a crazy catholic tradition, but it works!
